Our Mission

Our mission is to make BS20 carbon neutral.

We are a group of residents living in Portishead, Pill and Portbury, North Somerset, United Kingdom.

We are determined to make a tangible contribution to solving climate change.

Realistically we can achieve carbon neutrality for all our electricity consumption by 2030.

We collaborated to form Channel Green Energy, a not for profit company beneath Low Carbon Gordano.

We believe the fastest, most effective & efficient way to tackle climate change, crucially without limiting ours or our children's lifestyle, is to get organised, get renewable and get carbon neutral.

Scale is key and an infrastructure solution BS20 wide is the critical size.

As a community we can choose this future, but it is not a present, we have to act and work for it.

We want to achieve sustainability in every way: assets that deliver our renewable energy also have to be owned sustainably.

By the community for the community.

Community owned energy assets provide returns to their local communities they serve.

Renewable energy generation is one of the key growth industries today.

It is positive, challenging and rewarding to be part of the solution to climate change, by addressing the climate impact of up to 40,000 people.
